ARGOSY 1080P NETWORK MEDIA PLAYER FROM FIRSTIN.CO.NZ 720P
I've been using it in 720P and it seems to display movies well (when it is not skipping).Įven when automatic play is turned OFF, it still autoplays the first file in the folder. It doesn't read my 300+ movies already encoded with Handbrake in mp4/m4v format, none of which have DRM. Unfortunately, this is not space efficient.

I haven't figured out the best way/program to use for encoding, so I've been using DVDshrink and extracting the main movie & creating DVD folders. Some files skip/go dark every few minutes, some files don't allow fast forward/rewind, some do. It has component and composite outputs, as well as HDMI.Ĭons: AVI file reading is spotty. It's small, has no apparent noise (audio or video). Works great with DVD folders, works fairly well with AVI encoded movies. Pros: Easy to use, read my WD element drive just fine.

The device allows for firmware and codec updates via free downloadable software files If you have a library of digital media and are tired of watching them on a tiny monitor this is the device for you.Įverything you need to hook up the unit is included in the box. 2.5 external and flash drives with out external power may cause problems, due to (in my opinion) forcing the media player to provide the power to the drive. Overall Review: From my experience, a powered external hard drive should be used. Long range remote control use is a bit difficult to master because of this. The remote is very small and is lost easily, it is powered by a small "coin" type battery and thus you must aim precisely due to the lack of power provided by the battery. You will have to secure it to the surface where it will be installed (Velcro) or else it will end up dangling behind your TV. The problem I was having was not related to the Media Player, it was due to the hard drive and flash drives I was using.Ĭons: These aren't really cons more opinions, as they could be considered Pro's: I felt very well taken care of and very appreciated. The rep was very personable, he never used language that lead me to believe that I was being sent standardized responses, and was friendly at all times. there was never a time that I did not know what was happening with the RMA service. The rep, Kevin, I was communicating with continuously sent updates. This thing is pretty cool!Īrgosy's tech support makes up for every bad tech support experience I have ever had! shortly after I setup the unit I believed that it was malfunctioning. Pros: Small, well built, well programed, easy to use and setup. The most powerful Xvid subtitle display featureĪdditional Information Date First Available
